How to Check Your Electricity Bill Online in Pakistan
Checking your electricity bill online takes less than a minute once you know what number to use. This guide covers every method that works in 2026, for all major DISCOs across Pakistan.
What You Need Before You Start
You only need one thing to check your bill online.
- Your 10 to 14-digit reference number (also called Consumer No or Account No) from your last bill
- A phone or computer with internet
- That's it — no account, no password, no app required on this site
Method 1: Check on BillsOnline.pk (Fastest)
This works for LESCO, MEPCO, FESCO, IESCO, GEPCO, PESCO, HESCO, SEPCO, QESCO, TESCO, HAZECO, and K-Electric.
- 1
Go to the bill checker on this site
Use the search bar on the homepage, or go directly to your DISCO's page (e.g. /lesco-bill-check for LESCO, /mepco-bill-check for MEPCO).
- 2
Select your utility company
Choose 'Electricity' and then pick your DISCO from the list. If you are not sure which company serves your area, your bill header will tell you.
- 3
Enter your reference number
Type the number exactly as it appears on your last bill. Do not include spaces or dashes. Most DISCOs use a 14-digit number starting with your meter code.
- 4
Press Check Bill
Your current bill amount, issue date, due date, and units consumed appear instantly. You can also download a copy as a PDF from this page.
Method 2: Check on the Official DISCO Website
Each DISCO has its own portal. Use this if you want to access additional account details beyond what a quick bill lookup shows.
- 1
Go to your DISCO's official website
LESCO: lesco.gov.pk, MEPCO: mepco.com.pk, FESCO: fesco.com.pk, IESCO: iesco.com.pk, GEPCO: gepco.com.pk, PESCO: pesco.com.pk, HESCO: hesco.gov.pk, SEPCO: sepco.com.pk, QESCO: qesco.com.pk, TESCO: tesco.gov.pk, HAZECO: hazeco.com.pk.
- 2
Find the 'Online Bill' or 'Bill Inquiry' link
Most DISCO sites have a prominent bill check button on the homepage. On some older sites you may need to look in the 'Customer Services' section.
- 3
Enter your reference or consumer number
Some portals use 'Reference No' and others use 'Consumer No'. Both refer to the same number printed on your bill. K-Electric uses a separate process on ke.com.pk.
Method 3: SMS (MEPCO Only)
MEPCO is the only Pakistani DISCO with a working SMS bill inquiry system as of 2026.
Send an SMS to 8009
Type your 14-digit MEPCO reference number and send it to 8009. Works from any network (Telenor, Jazz, Ufone, Zong). The reply comes within a few seconds and shows your current bill amount and due date.
No internet required
This is the best option if you have poor data connectivity. Standard SMS charges apply.
Common Problems and How to Fix Them
Wrong reference number error
Check that you have entered the number correctly. The reference number on your bill is different from your meter number. On LESCO bills it is labelled 'Ref. No.' On MEPCO it is '14-digit Reference No'. Count the digits.
Bill not showing yet
If your bill was just issued, it can take 12 to 24 hours for the online portal to update. Bills typically generate 3 to 5 days before the due date.
Official portal is down
DISCO websites go down occasionally. Use BillsOnline.pk as an alternative, or try the SMS method if available for your DISCO.
Need a PDF copy
On most DISCO portals there is a 'Print' or 'Download' button on the bill page. Some portals require you to click the bill reference to open the full page before the print option appears.
FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Can I check my electricity bill without a reference number?
It is difficult but not impossible. Some DISCOs let you search by CNIC or address at their office. The easiest route is calling 118 (toll-free) and asking them to read your bill amount over the phone.
Is it safe to enter my reference number online?
Yes. Your reference number is printed on every bill and has no security sensitivity. It cannot be used to pay your bill or access your account settings without additional verification.
How often does my electricity bill update online?
Electricity bills are generated once a month. The online portal usually updates within 24 hours of bill generation, which is 3 to 5 days before the due date.
Which DISCO covers my area?
Your electricity company is printed on your bill. If you have never had a bill, your DISCO depends on your city. LESCO covers Lahore, MEPCO covers South Punjab, IESCO covers Islamabad and Rawalpindi, PESCO covers KPK, HESCO covers interior Sindh, K-Electric covers Karachi.
