Unlike electricity or gas, water in Pakistan is not billed by a small set of national companies. Each city runs its own water and sewerage authority, usually a WASA, Water and Sanitation Agency, under the provincial government, with Karachi served instead by KWSB, now formally the Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC). There is no single national water regulator the way NEPRA covers electricity or OGRA covers gas; each authority sets its own rates and runs its own billing system. This page is the starting point for a water bill check no matter which city you're in: pick your authority below, or use the checker if you already know it.

How to Check Your Water Bill Online

Checking a water bill takes three steps and needs only the connection number from a past bill.

  1. 1

    Find your connection number

It is printed at the top of any previous water bill, sometimes labelled connection number or consumer number. Water bills are checked by this number only, not by name or address.

  2. 2

    Choose your water authority

Select the WASA or water board that bills your city in the checker above, or use the directory below if you are not sure which one serves you.

  3. 3

    View and download

See the payable amount and the due date on the official authority page, then download the duplicate bill to pay at a bank or an authorised counter.

Water Bill

Water Authorities by City

Pakistan's water and sewerage billing is split by city. Open the authority that serves you to check your bill.

Water Bill

Understanding Your Water Bill

Water bills vary more by city than electricity or gas bills do, since each authority sets its own rates, but most bills combine the same kinds of charges.

Water charge
A monthly charge for your connection, set by property type and connection size (or, less commonly, metered usage) under your local authority's own tariff, not a national rate.
Sewerage or sanitation charge
A separate charge for wastewater and sewerage services, usually billed alongside the water charge on the same bill, sometimes as a percentage of it.
Conservancy or allied charges
Additional local charges some authorities add for solid waste or related municipal services, shown as their own line on the bill.
Arrears and surcharge
Unpaid amounts carried from previous bills, plus a late payment surcharge if a past due date was missed.

New Water Connections

A new domestic water connection is applied for directly through your city's own WASA or water board office, since each authority runs its own application process, fee structure, and documentation requirements. There is no single national portal the way electricity has NEPRA's ENC; contact the authority for your area directly, or visit its office, to start a new connection.

Water Complaints and Helpline

If your bill looks wrong, supply is out, or there's a leak, here is where to get it fixed.

Authority helpline

Each water authority runs its own complaint line and, in some cities, a WhatsApp or online complaint portal. There is no single shared national number the way electricity and gas have; use the contact channel on your authority's own page above.

Local office

Register a billing or supply complaint in person at your area's WASA sub-division office, or KW&SC's local zone office in Karachi, and keep the complaint number for follow-up.

Escalation

If a dispute isn't resolved locally, escalate in writing to the authority's head office. Water is regulated provincially, not by a single national body, so the next step depends on your province.

See the general escalation path on the complaints and helplines page.

Water Bill FAQs

How do I check my water bill online?

Choose your water authority in the checker above and enter your connection number, or use the authority directory on this page if you are not sure which one bills your area. Your bill opens from the official authority source, with no account needed.

Who bills water in Pakistan?

There is no single national water company. Each city runs its own water and sewerage authority, usually a WASA under the provincial government. Karachi is served by KWSB, now formally KW&SC, the Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation.

Which authority bills my area?

Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Gujranwala are each billed by their own city WASA. Karachi is billed by KWSB (KW&SC), Islamabad by CDA, and DHA Lahore residents by DHA Lahore separately from the rest of the city. Use the authority directory above to open the right one for your area.

How is a DHA Lahore water bill different?

DHA Lahore doesn't have a self-service page where you can view your bill online. Instead, you pay it through the 1BILL option in your bank's internet banking, mobile app, or an ATM, using the reference number printed on your bill. DHA Lahore's own page explains this process and is where this site sends you.

Can I check a water bill by name or address?

No. Water bills are looked up by connection or consumer number only, the number printed on your last bill. Names and addresses are not used for the lookup.

How do I get a duplicate water bill?

Enter your connection number on your water authority's official page to view the current bill, then use the download or print option to save it as a PDF. The duplicate carries the same reference data as the original.

What is KWSB or KW&SC?

KWSB, the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, was converted into KW&SC, the Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation. It is the sole authority billing water and sewerage across Karachi.

Is checking a water bill online free?

Yes. There is no charge, no account, and no login required to check or download a duplicate water bill on this page or any authority page it links to.

What is the water complaint helpline number?

There is no single shared national number for water, unlike electricity or gas. Each authority runs its own helpline; use the contact channel listed on your authority's own page above.

Is this the official water authority website?

No. This is an independent consumer platform. Bills are read from each authority's own official system. Open the authority for your area from the directory above to reach its official site directly.
