Gas Bill Check
Two providers, one lookup
Most households in Pakistan still call a piped natural gas bill a "Sui gas bill", after the town of Sui in Balochistan where the country's gas fields were discovered in 1952. The name stuck as shorthand for gas supplied through the pipeline network, even though it is delivered today by two separate companies split by region and regulated by OGRA, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority. This page explains how to check a gas bill online, understand what is on it, and reach the right company for your area.

How to Check Your Gas Bill Online
Checking a gas bill takes three steps and needs only the consumer number from a past bill.
- 1
Find your consumer number
It is printed at the top of any previous gas bill, sometimes labelled consumer number or customer number. Gas bills are checked by this number only, not by name or CNIC.
- 2
Choose your gas company
Select the company that bills your area in the checker above, or use the directory below if you are not sure which one serves you.
- 3
View and download
See the payable amount, the due date, and the units used on the official company page, then download the duplicate bill to pay at a bank, an ATM, or a mobile wallet.

Understanding Your Gas Bill
A gas bill combines your usage at a slab rate with fixed charges, government cess, and tax. Knowing each line helps you spot an error.
- Gas price (slab rate)
- Your units multiplied by the OGRA-approved per unit rate for your consumer category. Like electricity, the rate rises in slabs as usage increases.
- Meter rent and fixed charges
- A flat monthly charge for the meter and connection, billed regardless of how much gas you used that month.
- GIDC
- The Gas Infrastructure Development Cess, a government-mandated charge that funds pipeline and gas infrastructure projects, added on top of the usage charge where applicable.
- GST and other taxes
- General Sales Tax and any other government levies are added to the gas and fixed charges.
- Late payment surcharge
- Paying after the due date adds a surcharge on the outstanding amount, so a timely check helps you avoid it.
Gas Load Management in Winter
Gas supply in Pakistan is often reduced in winter, when household heating demand outstrips what the pipeline network can deliver. Both companies publish a load management schedule that generally protects domestic consumers first, ahead of commercial and industrial connections, though the exact hours shift by area and season. Check your gas company's own load management page for the current schedule where you live.
New Gas Connections
New domestic connections on regular piped (system) gas are currently restricted across most of Pakistan under a long-standing government ban intended to protect supply for existing consumers. New connections are generally only available on RLNG, imported re-gasified gas that costs more than system gas but less than LPG cylinders. Contact your gas company directly for the current application process in your area.
Gas Bill Calculator
Want an estimate before the official bill arrives? Use the gas bill calculator to enter your units and get an approximate figure in rupees. Both gas companies also publish their own bill estimator tools, though the official bill is always the final amount.

Gas Complaints and Helpline
If your bill looks wrong, you smell gas, or supply is out, here is where to get it fixed.
Helpline
Call 1199, the shared national helpline both gas companies list for complaints and gas emergencies. For a suspected leak, treat it as urgent: ventilate the area, avoid switches or flames, and call immediately.
Online and WhatsApp
Each company runs its own online complaint form and complaint tracking; some also offer WhatsApp support. Use the link on your company's page above for the exact channel.
Escalation
If a billing dispute is not resolved, escalate in writing through your gas company's formal complaint process, then to OGRA, the regulator, if it remains unresolved.
See the general escalation path on the complaints and helplines page.

Gas Bill FAQs
How do I check my gas bill online?
Choose your gas company in the checker above and enter your consumer number, or use the provider directory on this page if you are not sure which company bills your area. Your bill opens from the official company source, with no account needed.
What is a Sui gas bill?
Sui gas is the everyday name Pakistanis use for piped natural gas, after the town of Sui in Balochistan where it was first discovered. It is not a company name; the two companies that actually bill piped gas today are split by region, one covering the north and one the south.
Which company bills my area?
Northern and central Pakistan, including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and Azad Kashmir, is billed by the northern network. Sindh and Balochistan, including Karachi and Quetta, are billed by the southern network. Use the provider directory above to open the right one.
Can I check my gas bill by name or CNIC?
No. Gas bills are looked up by consumer number only, the number printed on your last bill. Names and CNIC numbers are not unique enough to identify a single bill and are not used for the lookup.
How do I get a duplicate gas bill?
Enter your consumer number on your gas company's official page to view the current bill, then use the download or print option to save it as a PDF. The duplicate carries the same reference data as the original and is accepted at banks, ATMs, and mobile wallets.
What is GIDC on my gas bill?
GIDC stands for Gas Infrastructure Development Cess, a government-mandated charge added to gas bills to help fund pipeline and gas infrastructure projects. It appears alongside the usage charge, meter rent, and tax on the bill.
Why is my gas supply reduced in winter?
Winter heating demand across Pakistan regularly exceeds what the pipeline network can supply, so gas companies apply a load management schedule that typically prioritises domestic consumers over commercial and industrial ones. Check your gas company's own schedule for the current timing in your area.
Can I get a new gas connection right now?
New connections on regular system gas are restricted under a government ban in most areas. New connections are generally offered on RLNG instead, which costs more than system gas but less than LPG. Contact your gas company for the current process.
What is the gas complaint helpline number?
Call 1199, the shared national helpline listed by both gas companies for billing complaints, technical issues, and gas emergencies such as a suspected leak.
Is this the official gas company website?
No. This is an independent consumer platform. Bills are read from each gas company's own official system. Open the company for your area from the directory above to reach its official site directly.
