Pakistan's electricity supply is split into regional distribution companies, known as DISCOs, each billing a fixed set of districts under NEPRA, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority. Most of these are WAPDA-origin companies whose bills are generated on a shared system run by PITC; Karachi is the exception, served by K-Electric, a separate, privately owned utility with its own billing system. This page is the starting point for an electricity bill online check no matter which company serves you: pick your DISCO below, or use the checker if you already know it.

How to Check Your Electricity Bill Online

An electricity bill online check takes three steps and needs only the reference number from a past bill.

  1. 1

    Find your reference number

It is printed at the top of any previous electricity bill, usually 10 to 14 digits, sometimes called a reference or consumer number. This number is what identifies your bill, not your name or CNIC.

  2. 2

    Choose your DISCO

Select the company that bills your area in the checker above, or use the provider directory below if you are not sure which one serves you.

  3. 3

    View and download

See the payable amount, the due date, and the units used on the official company page, then download the duplicate bill to pay at a bank, an ATM, or a mobile wallet.

Understanding Your Electricity Bill

Every DISCO bill, and K-Electric's, adds the same kinds of charges on top of your basic usage. Knowing each line helps you spot an error.

Energy charge (slab rate)
Your units multiplied by the NEPRA-approved rate for your consumer category. Rates rise in slabs as usage climbs, and crossing into a higher slab raises the rate applied to that month's whole bill, not just the extra units.
Fuel Price Adjustment
A monthly per unit surcharge set by NEPRA that reflects the changing cost of fuel used to generate power, which is why the same usage can cost more in one month than another.
Meter rent and fixed charges
A flat monthly charge for the meter and connection, billed regardless of how many units you used that month.
TV licence fee
A fixed PTV licence fee added to almost every domestic electricity bill in Pakistan, unrelated to your actual usage.
Electricity duty and GST
Provincial electricity duty and General Sales Tax are added on top of the energy charge, and vary slightly by province and consumer category.

New Electricity Connections

A new domestic or commercial connection with any DISCO is applied for through NEPRA's ENC, the Electronic New Connection portal, which lets you submit the application and track its status online rather than visiting an office in person. The exact requirements and load sanctioning process are the same across DISCOs; K-Electric runs its own separate new connection process for Karachi.

Electricity Complaints and Helpline

If your bill looks wrong, power is out, or a meter needs checking, here is where to get it fixed.

Helpline

Dial 118, the national electricity complaint line most DISCOs list for power breakdown and billing complaints. Keep your reference number ready when you call.

Sub-division office

Register a complaint in person or online through your DISCO's local sub-division office, and note the complaint number for follow-up. K-Electric runs its own separate complaint channels for Karachi.

Escalation

If a billing dispute is not resolved locally, escalate through the PMDU portal and then to NEPRA, the regulator, for a formal review.

See the general escalation path on the complaints and helplines page.

Electricity Bill Check FAQs

How do I do an electricity bill online check?

Choose your DISCO in the checker above and enter your reference number, or use the provider directory on this page if you are not sure which company bills your area. Your bill opens from the official company source, with no account needed.

How can I check my electricity bill without visiting an office?

Use the checker above with the reference number printed on your last bill. It reads the current amount and due date directly from your DISCO's official system, the same as visiting in person, without the trip.

Electric bill check karne ka tarika kya hai?

Apni DISCO checker mein select karein, phir apne pichle bill par likha reference number darj karein. Bill turant official source se khul jayega, bilkul free, bina kisi account ke.

How do I know which DISCO serves my area?

Use the provider directory on this page, which lists every electricity company by the districts and cities it bills. If you already have a past bill, the company name is printed on it directly.

Is checking my electricity bill online free?

Yes. There is no charge, no account, and no login required to check or download a duplicate electricity bill on this page or any individual DISCO page it links to.

What do I need to check my electricity bill?

Just the reference or consumer number from a previous bill, usually 10 to 14 digits for DISCOs, or an account number for K-Electric. Names and CNIC numbers are not used for the lookup.

Can I check an electricity bill for someone else?

Yes. The lookup only needs the reference number printed on the bill, so you can check a bill for a family member or a rented property as long as you have that number.

Why did my electricity bill increase this month?

Usually one of two reasons: your usage crossed into a higher billing slab, which raises the rate on the whole month, or the Fuel Price Adjustment, a NEPRA-set monthly surcharge, went up. Check the units and the FPA line on your bill to see which applies.

What is the electricity complaint helpline number?

Dial 118, the national electricity complaint line listed by most DISCOs for billing and power breakdown complaints. K-Electric customers should use K-Electric's own helpline channels instead.

Is this the official electricity bill website?

No. This is an independent consumer platform, not affiliated with WAPDA, PITC, NEPRA, or any DISCO. Bills are read from each company's own official system. Open the DISCO for your area from the directory above to reach its official site directly.
